Status: Stuck In Development Hell Another story from Stephen King's domestic violence collection, Rose Madder is an odd little story that relies heavily on magic realism and grim reality, which is perhaps why it's been classed as "in development" since 2011. Word has been limited to say the least since then, and it seems the story of the magic painting is lost to development hell for now. Prospects: The fact that King himself calls Rose Madder a "stiff, trying-too-hard novel" shouldn't exactly fill you with enthusiasm, and the fantastical element of the novel is a little odd, but if it's handled well (and played mostly as a real world thriller) it could be a good watch. That is probably a big if though.
