14. The Eyes Of The Dragon (TV)

Release: TBC Status: Struggling The fantasy novel that was improbably originally called "Napkins" wasn't exactly loved by King fans, who claimed it was more of a kid's book, but that hasn't stopped the rights being picked up twice since its publication. It was originally intended to be a $50m blockbuster released in 2001, but that amounted to nothing, and SyFy snapped up the rights in 2012 to make either a TV series or a movie, written by Michael Taylor and Jeff Vintar. Since then not much has happened. Prospects: The appeal of semi-tying in to both The Stand and The Dark Tower series by using Randall Flagg as a character is clearly a big plus, if it means useful cross-promotion. And the enduring popularity of Arthurian legend-tinged fantasy would inevitably help generate a base of hype.
