24 Predictions For This Oscar Season's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

16. Creed (64%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "It may lean a little too heavily on the legacy of Rocky, but Creed serves up a solid sports drama, anchored by a strong lead performance by Michael B. Jordan." Many critics are already going to have their knives out for Creed considering that Rocky Balboa had his belated farewell in his "final" 2006 movie, as well as the fact that the trailer released makes it look like a relatively generic sports film. That said, familiar material executed right can still rack up decent reviews, and with writer-director Ryan Coogler re-teaming with his Fruitvale Station star Jordan, combined with Sylvester Stallone's undeniable presence, it'll probably earn marginally better reviews than the year's other big boxing flick, Southpaw (which currently sits at 59%). You can take at least 10% off that if Rocky dies in it, though, given the rumours that have been swirling about him having a terminal illness in the movie (and let's face it, he doesn't exactly look a picture of health in the above picture, does he?)
