24 Predictions For This Oscar Season's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

12. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (86%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "Visually stunning, superbly acted and evoking a classic sense of adventure, The Force Awakens proves that the Star Wars franchise has plenty of life left in it yet." Look at it this way: if Attack of the Clones can score 67% and Revenge of the Sith can rack up an insane 80%, how on Earth will a George Lucas-free Star Wars movie directed by J.J. Abrams not at least make it to 86%? With the insanely talented cast (easily the strongest of any Star Wars movie to date) combined with a focus on practical effects where possible and the undeniable nostalgic appeal of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher returning to their best-loved roles, this one would need to trip pretty damn hard to get less-than-stellar reviews. There will always be those hold-outs who will inevitably compare it unfavourably to the originals if it's anything less than a masterpiece, but whether its average score is closer to 7/10 or 9/10, to see it drop under 85% would be a major shock, if again a reminder of the danger of runaway hype.
