20. Pulp Fiction
Two mortal enemies stand side by side, both alpha males, bristling with masculinity and pride, unaware that their stories will explosively entwine for one final, shocking moment in the not too distant future. They glower, exchanging thinly veiled challenges, and then part ways - or that's how the film goes anyway. This set shot shows an entirely different side of the dynamic between Butch and Vincent Vega, and though it's a great shot, it's pretty contradictory to how they clash in the scene.
19. Harry Potter
Stop laughing with Snape, Harry! You're supposed to hate him, it's what makes the ultimate pay-off about his love for your mother before he dies so profoundly affecting. To be honest, the very idea of Alan Rickman dropping out of character is completely alien, since he's probably best imagined as a walking amalgamation of his greatest villain creations - from Harry Potter, Die Hard and Robin Hood - and the idea that he can laugh and joke like other normal humans is devastating to that wonderful little fantasy.
