12. The Dark Knight Rises

Though Chris Nolan's trilogy ender was full of holes, its entertainment factor was never wholly compromised, thanks to some extreme high-points. And despite the ending, which robbed him of all of his impact, Bane was one of those high-points: his dynamic with Bruce Wayne and Batman was particularly enjoyable, and everything that fans who were let down badly by Batman & Robin could have hoped for. The fiercely masculine clash added some genuine spice to the central character relationship of the film (which it was despite the obvious attempts to make others - like Bruce and Selina, and Bane and Talia,) which clearly gave rise to these moments of camaraderie on set. But the sight of Batman and a villain almost flirting on set (note the body language) doesn't really do much for that.
11. Pan's Labyrinth

Del Toro's films rely on an otherworldly exoticness in characters that makes them irresistible for fantasy fans, and some of his monsters are among the finest ever committed to film. It's a shame then that someone had to leak the hilariously mind-messing behind the scenes images from Pan's Labyrinth showing one of his most iconic creations tucking into dinner and a Coke. Magic well and truly destroyed.
