21. Shinobu Sensui - Yu Yu Hakusho
Yu Yu Hakusho is incredibly blessed in its lineup of super villains, but Shinobu Sensui stands out from the rest and is in fact so evil he needed to invent six personalities just to bear the emotional strain of his actions.
The “Dark Angel,” as he’s often known, has abandoned most of his ties to humanity after the Feast of Human Vices, a juncture in this character’s story after he murdered members of The Black Black Club, having discovered the wealthy group torturing demons.
The former Spirit Detective has a mental break as a result, and while it was once demons upon whom Sensui once exacted his frustrations, now it’s humans who tend to feel his wrath.
Shinobu’s split personalities and infinitely calm mannerisms make him a hugely interesting villain to follow over the course of Yu Yu Hakusho’s Chapter Black Saga.
