12. The Infinity Gauntlet (Thor)

In the first Thor movie, when a group of Frost Giants stormed Asgard - with Loki's assistance - in order to acquire the Casket of Ancient Winters from Odin's trophy room, there was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Easter egg in the background. The all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet was on display - although it couldn't possibly have been housing all of the Infinity Stones at the time, despite the glowing objects clearly visible on it (perhaps they were mock replicas for the purposes of display) - which was the first hint we had been given about the coming of Thanos and a potential Infinity Gauntlet movie, which we are now fairly certain will be the comic book arc that the third Avengers movie is going to be based on. The Infinity Gauntlet, when armed with all of the Infinity Stones (or Infinity Gems, as they're known in the comic books) grants its wearer complete control over reality and, as such, it is a very exciting inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
