Film: Star Wars When: As the Millennium Falcon flees Tatooine What would travelling faster than lightspeed look like? Well, the stars would stretch past you, obviously. The first glimpse of hyperspace looks great - utterly nonsensical scientifically, but totally suitable to the Star Wars universe - made all the cooler because we're seeing it from the cockpit of the Falcon as Han and Chewie shift about nonchalantly. To preserve the mystique of the shot for a generation who will watch the films in order, Lucas didn't include a single star warp in the prequels.
