Based on the graphic novel of the same name (which at this point had already been rejected as a comic and a screenplay) by Steven Niles, 30 Days Of Night is a bloody and brutal outing that moves the vampire action from Transylvania to the isolated town of Barrow, Alaska during the events of a month-long polar night in which the town is plunged into prolonged darkness.

The perfect holiday spot for vampires, a gang of the bloodsucking creatures led by Marlow (Danny Huston) appear in the town to feast upon the inhabitants while a group of survivors must find a way to make it through the long night.

Unlike many other vampire films where these monsters are portrayed as charismatic and seductive, the bloodsuckers here go all-out on the monstrous side. They’re merciless and their mouthful of fangs can make short and gory work of whoever they catch.
