25 Best Zombie Movies Ever Made
15. Zombieland
Just when it seemed like Shaun of the Dead had the zombie comedy sub-genre on lockdown, along came Zombieland, which proved there was still room for laughs and the dead. This American crack at a Zom-Com came from what once started life as a TV series, but without the right backing from any network, Zombieland eventually turned into a full-on feature film.
Below the surface though, this comedy hits upon the themes of loneliness and the sense of not belonging in modern-day society - so what better situation to find more people like you than in a zombie apocalypse? Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson work so darn well with one and other as the dynamic constantly switches, from awkward brothers, father and son and the best of friends throughout. Then, of course, Emma Stone shows up to keep them both in check.
But to stay alive in Zombieland, the key to survival is to follow a strict set of rules and don’t worry, Jesse Eisenberg will be sure to run through them through the runtime.
If you weren’t already sold by this, well Bill Murry turns up for a while, just to say hi and be the cherry on top of an already sweet little comedy cake.
