A quaint little French film that, whilst has the backdrop of the undead consuming the living, this zombie tale decides to focus on what boredom and being alone can really do to a human. Sure you’ve survived the initial outbreak of the dead, but what is next?

Night that Eats the World is a very confined film, taking the advantage of minimal locations and a small cast - we follow Sam as he strives to survive, by barricading himself in an apartment block on his lonesome.

Day to day tasks with a heavy emphasis on mental health is what drives this plot, as Sam’s safe haven starts to become his prison. On top of the strong themes, this is excellently shot as Sam is framed throughout his decent.

This won’t be on many people’s on my radar as it is a zombie movie released in 2018, but by mere chance, if you find yourself scrolling through Netflix then give this a watch.
