25 Best Zombie Movies Ever Made
9. Pontypool
An extremely clever psychological horror, Pontypool focuses around a former big-time radio DJ, as he and a few others are locked in a small-town radio station whilst the rest of the world goes to hell. So what else is there to do, but keep broadcasting, right?
This film is another phenomenal example of how a tight and cerebral script can drag a tired genre out of the same old tropes and inject new life just when we thought we had seen it all.
Stephen Mchattie as Grant Mazzy is the driving force of this film as his energy and at times his narration give off vibes reminiscent of War of the Worlds. The viewer isn’t shown much here, but left to guess as to what rages outside for most of this picture.
Pontypool goes to show that sometimes the delicate approach to storytelling works best.
