Found footage claustrophobic horror, but with zombies? Yes please, this is a perfect combination. You’ve not witnessed the true terror zombies till you’ve watched REC. Sure this might just be a self-contained short zombie story, but the handheld nature of it adds so much to the atmosphere, tension and towards the end is a bloody horrifying experience.

Aside from the slow start, everything builds perfectly as the situations become chaotic and exhausting very fast. The one only knock towards this film is the survives at times seems to either die instantly or manage to hang on for a silly amount of time.

REC truly doesn’t hold back and it certainly is one of the best zombie films ever made - no doubt there. One of those within the genre that stands the test of time and will surely scare generations to come.

Just try and not jump out of your seat while watching this. This is jump scares done right.
