25 Best Zombie Movies Ever Made
5. Train To Busan
Commuting can be a pain as it is, but when a vital outbreak occurs in Korea, the Train to Busan turns into a one-way ticket to hell. This relentless zombie thriller takes the best bits from World War Z, being the fast unstoppable zombies that dogpile one and other and combined it with the cramped and claustrophobic atmosphere of Snow Piecer.
Yeon Sang-ho doesn’t waste a moment of the audiences time here and uses every single part of the train to great effect. Carriage by carriage our survivors have to deal with the dead in new and interesting ways. Even when Gong Yoo and the rest aren't running for their lives, the tension could be cut with a knife.
Fast zombies are so easily done wrong, but this sits up there with 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead as one of the greats. But unlike both of them has a strong emotional element, that doesn’t just feel tacked on.
The opening scene alone is enough to get Train to Busan on this list and might have the strongest in a zombie film yet - bar 28 Weeks Later, but this Korean zombie flick never lets up and is one of the most stressful experiences ever put to film.
