25 Best Zombie Movies Ever Made

4. 28 Days Later

For all intents and purposes, the zombie genre was relegated to that of B-Movie limbo and had all, but died off completely before 28 Days Later came along and gave the dead the ability to run. Yes, something as simple as ramping up the speed of these monsters was all it took to make them not only scary again, but help kick starts a revolution in the industry.

That combined with Danny Boyle’s excellent direction meant that this relatively small production with a tiny budget would be forever cemented as one of the greats in the zombie genre. The fear is real, the locations iconic with a baron London, like we’ve never seen before and the soundtrack thunderous as John Murphy’s score amplifies the fear tenfold.

Seriously without, In a House In A Heartbeat 28 Days Later would feel like a completely different film.

Now yes, the ghouls here have been described as being infected with rage, but that doesn’t stop them being more than zombie adjacent and falling into the genre. It is high time we stopped arguing otherwise.
