25 Definitively Best Movies EVER (According To Critics AND Fans)

17. Lawrence Of Arabia (1962)

Lawrence Of Arabia Peter O Toole Omar Sharif
Columbia Pictures

Score: 92

They don't make films like Lawrence Of Arabia any more. Well, they do, but the closest you're likely to get now are epics of a different nature like Avengers: Infinity War, for which the term "epic" has been almost completely redefined anyway.

David Lean's take on the life of TE Lawrence, meanwhile, basically invented the term and without it there'd be no Star Wars, no Ridley Scott epics and no Steven Spielberg. It might be long, but it hinges on one of the greatest heroic performances of all time and some of the most breathtaking imagery ever committed to film.

Sure, it loses points for historical accuracy and misrepresentation of characters, but in the end, that's not really the point, anyway.
