25 Film Sequels To Watch Out For In 2014

10. Planes 2: Fire And Rescue

Plot: Currently unknown. Isn't it ironic that the least liked film in the Pixar canon (Cars) managed to spawn both a sequel (Cars 2) and a spin-off film (Planes)? And, that spin-off film is also getting a sequel? Luckily, Pixar had nothing to do with the first Planes movie, which was critically panned when it came out last August. To be fair, it was never supposed to be anything more than a Direct-to-DVD release. Still, somebody deemed it worthy enough to have it get released theatrically. Planes wound up grossing well over $200 worldwide against a $50 million budget and, of course, that means we're getting a trilogy. Not much is known about the Planes sequel thus far, except that Dane Cook will be coming back to reprise his role, and that he will be joined by Modern Family TV star Julie Bowen. Everyone would feel much better about these movies if Disney just came out and admitted that this is all just a scheme to make your kids buy more toys. Let's just hope they don't try to expand the concept, or else we may wind up with Trains or Boats or Bikes. U.S. Release Date: July 18th
