Plot: After moving into a dream home with his new girlfriend, Malcolm once again finds himself in the middle of bizarre paranormal events... with hilarious results! A Haunted House was a fairly obvious spoof of found-footage horror movies such as Paranormal Activity and the film starred Marlon Wayans, who has co-written and produced both Haunted House movies thus far (he also stars in the second one). It was pretty apparent from the start that this was his way around making another Scary Movie film without calling it Scary Movie, though I think we all wish he would just leave the spoof genre alone. Friedberg and Seltzer (Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie) have killed the "spoof movie" for good, ruining the genre with an endless barrage of pop culture references with absolutely zero jokes to go along with them. There's no need for Marlon Wayans to give us yet another one of these despicable messes. Still, you can't blame Open Road Films from wanting to make the film. A Haunted House was made for $2.5 million and grossed close to $60 million worldwide. As long as they keep the budget down and enough people flock to the theaters, and as long as the Paranormal Activity franchise stays alive, Marlon Wayans could be making as many A Haunted House movies as he wants.
