25 Greatest Easter Eggs From The Last 20 Years Of Horror

17. Halloween (2007)

Rob Zombie€™s remake of the seminal horror classic Halloween is a bit divisive. Some fans love it, others find the gritty bleak take on a fun genre romp a bit too... downbeat. Either way, the musician-turned-director still had the guts to take on a much-loved flick and make his own while still paying respect to the original. While he might have rewritten Michael Myers€™ mom to be a woman of low moral fibre, there were certain touches he kept the same as Carpenter.

During one scene, a young Michael keeps himself entertained while his sister drops her drawers for her boyfriend. Switching on the TV, a horror movie marathon begins, starting with The Thing From Another World. The 1951 b-movie classic also features heavily in the final act of the first Halloween, as Laurie watches it with the kids she€™s babysitting. Zombie clearly knows what you cannot mess with from the original.
