25 Greatest Easter Eggs From The Last 20 Years Of Horror

22. Shaun Of The Dead

Born from the loving embrace of self-confessed horror fans, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg, Shaun Of The Dead is chock full of genre references. From the news coverage describing the Rage virus from 28 Days Later and a crashed probe from Night Of The Living Dead, to Ed€™s line of €œWe€™re coming to get you, Barbara!€ - also nabbed from NOTLD, there€™s homages a plenty.

Those stealthy devils even managed to sneak a few in under the radar which those with a keen eye might have already spotted.

Shaun rifles through the phone book to find the number for a sweet Italian restaurant to book for a date with girlfriend Liz. He whizzes through and lands on one: Fulci€™s Restaurant; a nod to Italian horror maestro, Lucio Fulci. Later, as Shaun and Ed venture into the back garden to deal with a zombified shop girl, they lean in to check her name badge which reads Mary. Yeah, what of it? Some mother of Christ reference? No. Above her name is the logo of the store she works at: Landis. Named after legendary horror director, John Landis (An American Werewolf In London.)
