25 Greatest Movie Endings Since 2000

12. The Social Network (2010)

The Ending: Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) is informed by one of his lawyers (Rashida Jones) that he will need to settle with his former pal Eduardo (Andrew Garfield), and is then left to his own devices to use her laptop. He sends a Facebook friend request to his ex-girlfriend Erica (Rooney Mara), hitting refresh every few seconds as he waits for her to respond. Closing text then indicates that Zuckerberg paid settlements to the Winklevoss twins as well as Eduardo, but that with a site valued at $25 billion, Zuckerberg is the world's youngest billionaire. Why It's Awesome: Because it manages to commend Zuckerberg's genius while also acknowledging the human element behind Facebook, even if he'll be the first to admit that the romantic connection with Erica was exaggerated for cinematic purposes. The use of The Beatles' Baby, You're a Rich Man is a nice touch, too.
