25 Mind-Blowing Facts About The Wire

9. A Couple Of Inconsistencies

Inevitably in a show of this length there are a few inconsistencies and continuity errors. In season one, for instance, when Herc (Domenick Lombardozzi), Carver (Seth Gilliam) and Pryzbylewski (Jim True-Frost) have a fight in the parking lot of Barksdale€™s towers, their car is torched and left behind. However, the torched car is a different (older) model than the one that they initially drove in there. Omar, the streetwise gunslinger, has a date-of-birth that suggests he is a lot older than he seems. In the fifth season, a tag is seen that indicates that he was born on 15/8/1960, thus making him forty-seven. It seems unlikely that Omar is anywhere near that age at the time of the episode. There are also a few inconsistencies with police shift patterns, with many policemen seeming to work day, evening and night shifts within a very short space of time €“ something that contradicts the stringent shift structure of Baltimore€™s real police department.
