Billed As: The latest collaboration between Peter Berg (Deepwater Horizon, Patriots Day) and Mark Wahlberg, in which an elite American intelligence officer (Wahlberg) attempts to smuggle a high-value police officer out of Indonesia.

Hype: Berg and Wahlberg's recent team-ups have been solidly entertaining dramatisations of real-world events, but having no direct footing in reality, Mile 22 will allow them greater freedom to bust their gonzo action chops.

The film's apparently being mounted as the first of a potential trilogy, and given Berg's filmmaking brio and Wahlberg's easy leading man appeal, there's every chance this is a white-knuckle, highly entertaining actioner.

If that pairing's not enough, the supporting cast also includes Ronda Rousey, John Malkovich, Lauren Cohan and The Raid's Iko Uwais, so clearly, Berg's going all-in on both characters and action.
