Billed As: The fourth entry into the hit thriller franchise, this prequel will depict the events of the first ever Purge.

Hype: While it's a shame that the prequel precludes Frank Grillo's involvement and series director James DeMonaco is only serving as screenwriter this time, there should be plenty of grisly carnage as the beginnings of the Purge are further contextualised.

The marketing suggests another over-the-top, ultra-violent romp, and what's more, Marisa Tomei stars as the woman responsible for spearheading the Purge.

Fingers crossed it provides the lead-in for a fifth and hopefully final Purge movie, which can function as a sequel and depict the all-out war between the New Founding Fathers of America's supporters and, well, everyone else.
