25 Most Hotly Anticipated Movies Of Winter 2016 - Ranked
10. Assassin's Creed
Release Date: December 21st
Billed As: Hollywood's latest attempt to make a video game adaptation that isn't a load of garbage.
Hype: After Warcraft tanked (comparatively so at the very least), cynics who claim that video game movies fundamentally don't work were rubbing their hands with glee. Surely if a director as talented as Jones could fail, then there must be something wrong.
But Jones didn't have Michael Fassbender, and it's not like he has a track record of making bad movies.
Fassbender is playing the titular assassin, adding relevance to the film, and he's joined by the likes of Brendan Gleeson, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons and Michael K. Williams. So hopefully this is going to be better than Prince Of Persia.
The fact that Justin Kurzel is directing, having led Fassbender in the brilliant Macbeth should also elevate it even further.
