12. The Journey - Timothy Spall & John Hurt

Having already wowed recently with his performance as artist William Turner, Timothy Spall returns to another real life performance as Democratic Unionist Party leader Ian Paisley - a huge, colourful character who should inspire a great performance from the Wormtail actor. The film presents a fictional account of the clash of two implacable enemies in Northern Ireland - Paisley and Sinn Fein politician Martin McGuinness (played by Colm Meaney). They are forced to take a short journey together that saw them become unlikely friends and allies and change the course of history. Intriguingly the film also features Game Of Thrones' Ian Beattie as Gerry Adams, which should be about as terrifying as his role in Westeros as Ser Meryn Trant.
