Martin Scorses's latest sees Andrew Garfield, Liam Neeson and Adam Driver playing Jesuit Portuguese Catholic priests who face violent persecution in Japan when they travel on the trail of their mentor to spread the word of Christianity in the East. It's been in production for a while now after it was greenlit in 2009 with Daniel Day-Lewis, Benicio del Toro and Gael García Bernal in the key roles, but the director decided to focus on and Shutter Island and Hugo. But that shouldn't inspire concerns: it's a Scorsese film, and Harry Potter alumnus Ciaran Hinds is in good company on that starry cast.
