25 Predictions For This Summer's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

6. Magic Mike XXL (61%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "Serving up more of what audiences loved the first time, Magic Mike compensates for its perfunctory nature with an irrepressible sense of fun, and surprisingly well-defined characters." Pretty much nobody expected Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike to be a hit with critics, but its surprisingly thoughtful examination of the male stripper profession netted it a shocking 80% on the Tomatometer. Though Soderbergh isn't directing this time, he's still serving as cinematographer and editor, so it goes without saying that his creative stamp will be in great abundance for this wildly unnecessary sequel. Even though it almost certainly won't hit the highs of the first film (and the lack of Matthew McConaughey is a major disappointment), it'll probably still do enough to win broadly positive reviews, hopefully just sticking to what worked before.
