Predicted Critical Consensus: "A superior biopic thanks to strong direction and stellar performances, Straight Outta Compton captures its subjects in all of their controversial glory." The political context is sure to be lost on some older critics who perhaps can't separate their hatred for rap music from the subjects themselves, and it'll likely be accused of being a hagiographic portrayal of its central figures, but even so, Straight Outta Compton will likely win over most critics with its performances and keen sense of time and place. Honestly, this one could probably go a good 10-15% different in either direction, though given how excellent the trailer looks, hopefully it races towards the 90% mark, unlikely though that is.
