25 Shocking CGI Movie Moments That Left You Speechless

There can often be an issue when adapting a novel or comic book to film, where things simply don't translate well from the page to the screen. This could come down to anything, but one of the biggest obstacles, particularly in the fantasy genre, is having the necessary CGI to hand.

This was something that the final two entries in the Twilight Saga suffered with, particularly Edward and Bella's (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) daughter, Renesmee. The character's backstory essentially meant that a normal baby couldn't be used to bring her to life, so the Breaking Dawn films instead relied on CGI that simply wasn't up to the task.

The story essentially saw the vampiric Edward impregnate the human Bella, creating a human/vampire hybrid, something that was a big deal and informed the entire plot of the last chapter in the story. For something so important, however, it ultimately became a laughing stock.

When Renesmee was born, she couldn't simply be played by a real baby because the fact that she was part vampire meant that she aged rapidly, so the filmmakers decided special effects were the best course of action to take. You can see from the image at the top of this entry that it didn't end well. To this day, it's the biggest talking point from the final movie in a franchise that was at one point such a pop culture phenomenon.
