25 Star Wars Actors Who Are No Longer With Us

4. Richard LeParmentier

Known as Admiral Motti in Star Wars and Lt. Santino in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Richard LeParmentier got his start in theatre before appearing in 1974's Stardust, and then Rollerball a year later. If you're not sure who exactly Admiral Motti was, he was the Imperial Admiral whose lack of faith was found "disturbing" by Darth Vader (who proceeds to force choke him). That made him just about the only character in the Imperial army to stand up to Vader at any point in the films. Although he was eventually cast as Motti, LeParmentier had actually tried out for another role originally: that of Han Solo, which would, of course, eventually go to Harrison Ford. Married to actress Sarah Douglas, who he shared credits such as Superman II and Rollerball with. LaParmentier passed away suddenly in April, 2013 at the age of 66.
