19. Jeremy Sinden

London-born Jeremy Sinden appeared in Star Wars as Tiree, a Gold Squadron pilot, and although his character met with a quick death in the movie, he managed to catch the eye of the Expanded Universe writers, who gave Tiree something of a second life, with a back story as Tay Vanis, an Alliance agent who operated under the code name Tiree. As for the actor, Sinden had an active career on the big and small screen, where he was also known for Chariots Of Fire and After The War, as well as having an extensive body of work on audio books. He was also part of the chorus of Hey Jude along with his brother Marc. Sinden passed away May 1996 after battling lung cancer. He was just 45 years old.
