It's disappointing that, nine movies in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and four movies in to phase two - we still haven't been given a single movie with a female lead. With Black Widow already a prominent character and the likes of Ms. Marvel expected to appear, it's a shame the female heroes of the franchise are still limited to supporting roles. It'll happen at some stage - we get that - and it's not as though it's taken away from the overall quality of the franchise so far, but for the purposes of equality and for the purposes of learning about some of the most interesting characters from the comic books in detail, it would certainly be nice to see some females starring in their own titular offerings and getting origin stories.
