20. Not Enough Crossing Over With Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
When you consider how involved S.H.I.E.L.D. were with the events in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the aftermath of Thor: The Dark World, it really is baffling how the characters from the show didn't appear in either movie and, in most cases, vice versa (Nick Fury and Maria Hill have briefly appeared in the show, but that's all). S.H.I.E.L.D. - who seem to know everything it's possible to know when it suits Marvel to involve them - were nowhere to be seen in Iron Man 3 or Thor: The Dark World and, while they were prominent in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Phil Coulson, Melinda May, Grant Ward and company were very conspicuous in their absence from the main scenes. The show is great but, even when it tries to crossover with the movies, it feels like an entirely different continuity. Granted, a television budget and the general feel of an episodic drama is always going to be different to a major blockbuster, but not enough is being done to minimise the impact of that difference.
