3 Ups & 7 Downs From The Legend Of Tarzan

1. Sharp Cinematography & Locations

Though David Yates actually does a surprisingly terrible directing job on the whole, it's hard to argue with the fact that there are some absolutely gorgeous images appearing abundantly throughout the film.

Cinematographer Henry Braham (who is also lensing the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2) nails some terrific scenery shots in particular, and though much of the film was shot on a soundstage, he does the best he possibly can to downplay the often unconvincing CGI elements.

In short, when it's not soaked in CGI, Tarzan actually looks pretty good, and at least helps the film function as a decent travelogue above all else.
