A decade before Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film, James Cameron famously tried to make one with production company Carolco. Fresh off of his smash hit Terminator 2: Judgement Day, the director decided to cast none other than John Connor (Edward Furlong) as the nerdy superhero Peter Parker. Legal issues with the movie studio ultimately prevented all of this from happening. Cameron would go on to direct the two highest grossing films of all time with Titanic and Avatar. Furlong had a lucrative career as well, starring in films such as... uh, The Crow Part 4? Yeah, as much as any self-respecting movie fan loves Terminator 2 (as well as American History X and Detroit Rock City), it's a little hard to imagine Furlong high-pitch squeaking his way though a Spider-Man movie.
