If James Cameron actually got to make his Spider-Man movie then we would have gotten a Spidey cinematic universe that was vastly different from the one we know and love today. First, unlike Raimi, the director didn't want to do an origins story. Cameron instead wanted to do The Night Gwen Stacy Died story-line, thus he needed an actress to play the eponymous Green Goblin victim. His choice was none other than '90s wild child "it" girl Drew Barrymore. Over fifteen years later and the role would, of course, be played by today's it girl Emma Stone. Actually, if you think about it, Stone is probably the equivalent of what Barrymore was during the '90s (minus the drug-filled party nights). So the casting probably would have been perfect.
