30 Actors Who Almost Starred In A DC Movie

17, Mel Gibson - Harvey Dent / Two-Face

For those of you who are too young to remember; there was once a time when Mel Gibson was a pretty big deal. Aside from starring in his fair share of iconic roles he also turned down his fair share. From General Maximus in Ridley Scott's Gladiator, to the T-100 in James Cameron's The Terminator, to an unknown role he was set to play in Martin Scorsese's The Departed. The actor was also offered the role of Two-Face in Joel Schumacher's superhero debut Batman Forever. Scheduling conflicts with his 1995 historical drama Braveheart forced him to turn the role down. The part, of course, went to Tommy Lee Jones. Though, admittedly it would have been pretty hilarious to see Gibson in his prime parading around Gotham arguing with himself while spewing nonsensical philosophical rhetoric. Comedy gold!
