For those unfamiliar, Plastic Man is exactly what you're thinking: a super-hero whose unique completely malleable body chemistry allows him to stretch to great lengths and contort himself into any position imaginable. Created by writer-artist Jack Cole, the character first appeared in Police Comics #1 in 1941. Despite being a C-list character, Plastic Man was actually pretty close to reaching the big screen thanks to a screenplay by renowned writers/directors The Wachowskis. With a script they originally wrote back in '95 the siblings were reportedly interested in shooting as recently as 2008; with Keanu Reeves in the lead role (though he seemed to be fairly oblivious to this in interviews). They even announced a December 2009 release date. Although there were rumors the Wachowskis and Reeves were set and already to begin pre-production, it seems things never got beyond the talking stage and the project fizzled as other projects came along. Thank god. What other DC what ifs would you like to add to the list? Let us know in the comment section below.
