Synopsis: Gwenyth Paltrow gets fired from her job and leaves her office to catch the tube. From this point on, her life is split in half. One story is what her life would be like if she makes her train. The other story is what her life would be like if she misses it. Two different stories, two different chains of events, but the same people throughout. Lesson: Anything can change the path your life is on. Anything. Whether it is by your decision or not. Flipping a coin. Having an umbrella when it starts to rain. While it is fun to imagine this, don't spend too much time on it. If you let yourself wonder "what if?" too often, you'll miss everything that is going on around you.
1. Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
Synopsis: Bradley Cooper gets out of a mental institution after attacking his wife when he finds out that she's cheated on him. He moves home with his parents and meets Jennifer Lawrence, a woman suffering from her own mental afflictions while trying to come to terms with the death of her husband. Together, the two try to find peace by working together through their own insanities. Lesson: There will always be regret in life, whether it's regret for your actions or regret for an event. Too soon we forget how well others can empathize with us and how that can transform us into who we were meant to become while overcoming our own personal tragedy. It is okay to lean on others if it means becoming strong enough to stand on our own and support the weight of all of our struggles and the struggles to come.
