12. Rama & Andi Vs. Mad Dog - The Raid: Redemption (2011)
In the age of CGI overload and action-figure-inspired blockbusters, modern-day filmmakers have mostly forgotten about the charms of simply watching guys beat the crap out of each other with their bare hands. Well, in the case of writer-director Gareth Evans' ferocious and breathless The Raid: Redemption, it's bare hands, feet concealed by boots, and automatic weapons. The entire film is essentially one nonstop action sequence. But even amid all that carnage, the final showdown of the proceedings still stands out as being particularly bloody and quite memorable. Fight choreographers Iko Uwais and Yaya Ruhian play super cop Rama and super villain Mad Dog, respectively. In the films climatic battle, Rama tries to save his criminal mastermind brother Andi (Donni Alamsyah) from the wrath of Mad Dog. What ensues is one of the most brutal martial arts battles ever put to film. Only after five minutes straight of savage kicks and throws, not to mention being stabbed in the neck with a fluorescent light tube, is this Mad Dog finally put down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b09V63Qdd7c
