30 Greatest Marvel Movie Villains
10. Ultron - James Spader (Avengers: Age Of Ultron)
Alright, so while Ultron didn't quite live up to expectations, he was still a highly entertaining villain, especially for Marvel's fairly middling standards.
Most of that credit goes not to Joss Whedon, who made the character surprisingly comical rather than menacing, but instead James Spader, whose velvety voice made the best of it all the same.
When it comes down to it, Ultron is pretty much your typical A.I. gone rogue, but his creation has had massive reverberations throughout the MCU ever since, and modeling him off Tony Stark was a welcome quirk, even if it also made him hard to take totally seriously.
Still, he sliced off Ulysses Klaue's arm, killed Quicksilver and almost caused worldwide extinction, so he was a formidable adversary all the same, if far more eccentric than most fans anticipated.
