30 Greatest Star Wars Characters
19. Padmé Amidala
Natalie Portman may have had to handle a lot of hammy lines when she took on the role of Padmé Amidala, but only the prequels' most vociferous detractors could possibly say she didn't do the role justice.
Padmé is one of the most important characters in the entire saga, and apart from serving up looks in every single Star Wars film (that wardrobe though), she also carried the torch once held by Carrie Fisher, and delivered an inspiring heroine for fans to rally behind.
The character does sadly get one of the most atrocious deaths in the entire series, but there's no denying Portman gave it her all throughout.
