Lando Calrissian is just about the smoothest operator in the galaxy, and one who's played an integral role in dozens of Star Wars stories even after leading the assault against the Second Death Star in Return of the Jedi.
Lando is an expert gambler, conman, pilot and shootist, and played a key role after the destruction of the Empire in both the old 'Legends' canon and in the new one. He's a proven ally and a fabulous dresser, but undoubtedly one of the best things about Lando is Billy Dee Williams' performance. The actor loves Star Wars, and has lent his voice and likeness to dozens of projects since first appearing in 1980's Empire Strikes Back, which is why fans rejoiced when it was revealed that he'd be returning in Episode IX.
Given Calrissian was also a highlight of Solo, where he was played by Donald Glover, it's pretty obvious that he's one of the greatest Star Wars characters going.
Also he stole the Emperor's personal yacht one time. That was great too!
