11. Darth Maul
The first Sith to be revealed in a thousand years, Maul was trained to be a living weapon by Darth Sidious and was one of the most powerful swordsmen in the galaxy despite his lack of combat experience. Darth Maul was sent by his master to track down Queen Amidala's ship and bring it back to Naboo. Maul successfully tracked them down but was unable to apprehend them and later at the Battle of Naboo he simultaneously fought both Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master Qui-Gon Jinn, two of the premier swordsmen in the Jedi Order, by using a double bladed lightsaber. He was able to kill Qui-Gon but he was killed himself a few minutes later by Kenobi. Maul is just about everyone's favorite part of the Phantom Menace, even among those who can't stand the rest of the movie, due to his distinctive look and the unexpectedness of his double bladed lightsaber. The fact that he doesn't have more then a few lines of dialogue only adds a sense of mystique to his character and the whole fight sequence between him, Jinn, and Kenobi is arguably the high point of the whole prequel trilogy.
