30 Horror Movie Survivors Who Probably Wished They'd Died

Here is a character who tried to end her suffering, but couldn't. 

Quite a long time before he hit the horror mainstream with his X Trilogy, Ti West made this equally awesome throwback to retro horror films, in which a house-sitting assignment takes a terrifying supernatural turn.

Samantha (Jocelin Donahue) is a college student who's been instructed to watch a large house for the night, and to attend to the owner's mother if she needs anything. As it turns out, Sam's been summoned there for a gruesome ritual to be impregnated with something satanic. She manages to escape and kill most of the people in the house, only to be told by the house's owner (Tom Noonan) that it's too late, and that whatever it is is already inside her. 

Upon hearing this, Sam tries to shoot herself in the head but survives, and at the hospital, the nurse says that "both of them" will be fine, indicating that she's now pregnant with God-knows-what. The House of the Devil ends there, and we don't see what lies ahead for Sam. Still, we can safely assume it was nothing good.
