30 Horror Movie Survivors Who Probably Wished They'd Died
20. Cube Zero - Eric Wynn
Much like Carrie's Sue Snell, Eric Wynn (Zachary Bennett) tried to do the right thing and got cruelly punished for it.
Wynn is introduced as a technician overseeing the Cube prison depicted in the previous two films. He has, rightly, concluded that the Cube is a deeply immoral setup and ultimately helps Cassandra (Stephanie Moore), a political demonstrator who was locked up in the Cube, to escape the prison.
Cassandra does get indeed get away, but Wynn isn't so lucky. He's recaptured by his former employers and, as a punishment for his 'treason', he has his mind damaged beyond repair, and he's then placed into the Cube as a prisoner. Wynn now comes across as mentally handicapped, which was a horrible punishment. He was regarded as a child prodigy and a genius in the outside world, so the way they went after his mind was especially nasty.
Interestingly, Wynn's behaviour is similar to that of Kazan, the Autistic savant in the first Cube, suggesting that Kazan had suffered a similar fate.
