Billed As: The latest attempt to take a rich video game narrative and not make it suck.
Hype: Inevitably, the video game adaptation genre comes with some pretty toxic expectations, and that now counts doubly after the disappointment of Duncan Jones' Warcraft. But if there's one thing you can say of Michael Fassbender, it's that he's not usually attracted to bad films, apart from Jonah Hex.
He's playing the protagonist, which gives added authenticity, and the surrounding cast of the likes of Brendan Gleeson, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons and Michael K. Williams should elevate this above being another Prince Of Persia.
It's also being directed by Justin Kurzel, who has just directed Fassbender in the brilliant Macbeth. Hopefully this will be more of the same.
