Billed As: The excellently marketed surprise rebirth of the Blair Witch franchise from horror prodigy Adam Wingard.
Hype: Wingard is the big selling factor here - even with an established brand for the Blair Witch: he's made some stand-out recent horrors like You're Next, V/H/S and its sequel, The ABCs Of Death and one episode of Outcast and his stock is in a very good place.
The franchise itself has been great and terrible (Book Of Shadows is a travesty), but the idea remains a seller. As long as they don't try and throw a load of money at it and lose the spirit of what made the original so great, people will flock to the cinema. Wingard SHOULD know this, and by the look of his trailer, he's absolutely nailed it.
